Fundaci\u00f3n para el Futuro de la Salud received $122,477.64 to support initiatives focused on the training and development of healthcare professionals in Puerto Rico.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolife FMS, a Puerto Rican company dedicated to providing medical equipment and advanced technology for diabetes management and care, distributed more than $200,000 in donations to three nonprofit organizations working to strengthen priority areas of healthcare in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funds, totaling $204,129.40, were raised through the Absolife Blue Gala. Fundaci\u00f3n para el Futuro de la Salud received 60% of the proceeds, equivalent to $122,477.64, while Fundaci\u00f3n Pedi\u00e1trica de Diabetes and Asociaci\u00f3n Puertorrique\u00f1a de Diabetes each received $40,825.88.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contribution represents a direct private-sector investment in nonprofit organizations addressing some of Puerto Rico\u2019s most pressing healthcare challenges. It also reinforces Absolife\u2019s social responsibility vision as the Island looks toward 2030 and prepares for projected challenges related to the availability and retention of physicians and other healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt Absolife, we believe social responsibility must translate into concrete action and partnerships capable of generating lasting results. These $204,129.40 represent much more than a financial contribution: they are an investment in physicians preparing to serve Puerto Rico, in children and adults living with diabetes, and in organizations working every day to improve the quality of life of our people,\u201d said \u00c1ngel A. Santiago, President of Absolife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe challenges we will face toward 2030 require us to act now. The future of healthcare in Puerto Rico cannot rest on one sector alone. It requires collaboration, investment, and commitment from the private sector, nonprofit organizations, healthcare professionals, and society. At Absolife, we want to be an active part of that effort,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolife Legacy Scholarship Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the press conference announcing the donations, the organizations also introduced the Absolife Legacy Scholarship Program, developed by Fundaci\u00f3n para el Futuro de la Salud as an initiative to support physicians in training and help ensure that Puerto Rico has the healthcare talent needed to address its future needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program\u2019s first recipient is Dr. Marimar Hern\u00e1ndez Hern\u00e1ndez, whose selection demonstrates the direct impact that collaboration between the private sector and nonprofit organizations can have on developing Puerto Rico\u2019s next generation of medical professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen a company decides to invest in the training of a physician, it is also investing in the thousands of people that professional may care for throughout their career. Absolife\u2019s support allows us to transform a financial contribution into real opportunities for our physicians and, above all, into hope for the future of Puerto Rico\u2019s healthcare system,\u201d said Edna Mar\u00edn, Executive Director of Fundaci\u00f3n para el Futuro de la Salud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar\u00edn explained that the resources received will support initiatives focused on the training and professional development of healthcare professionals, consistent with the Foundation\u2019s mission to contribute to the retention and attraction of medical talent to Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brenda Padilla, Executive Director of Asociaci\u00f3n Puertorrique\u00f1a de Diabetes, emphasized that diabetes continues to represent a significant healthcare challenge for Puerto Rico and that addressing it requires education, prevention, and access to resources that empower individuals to take an active role in managing their health. She also highlighted the importance of partnerships in expanding organizations\u2019 capacity to reach communities and promoting shared responsibility for a healthier society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the announcement, Absolife invited private-sector organizations, business leaders, and other stakeholders to become partners and sponsors of the next edition of the initiative, with the goal of expanding its reach and increasing its impact on organizations directly addressing Puerto Rico\u2019s healthcare needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
